Ayurveda was discovered and developed by ancient Indian holy men known as “rishis” as far back as 6000 years ago. From the Sanskrit, the word Ayurveda means “knowledge of life”. Even by today’s modern standards, Ayurveda is the most comprehensive holistic system of medicine addressing the unique nature of a person’s relationship with their environment through all aspects of body, mind, and spirit.
As the recognition of Ayurveda spread into other civilizations, its versatile adaptability was often integrated into other local forms of medicine. Ayurveda had a profound effect on the medicine of Tibet, China, Persia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, and Indonesia. Today, Ayurveda is practiced around the globe. In the United States, it is considered a complementary and alternative form of medicine.
The guiding principle of Ayurvedic health care is the alignment of your body structure and function with a native inner intelligence that looks after wellbeing. Ayurveda addresses the root cause of disease versus focusing on relieving the symptoms, therefore its success with alleviating chronic conditions.
Ayurvedic Proverb
Since 1995 I have been studying and practicing Ayurvedic techniques for self-healing based on the inspiration I found in the publications of “Perfect Health” and “Quantum Healing” by Dr. Deepak Chopra. My professional commitment to Ayurveda came as I obtained my certification as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle instructor and later, as an Ayurvedic Consultant Graduate from the Chopra Center University.
I further extended my practical working knowledge by “going to the source” in South India to complete training on Panchakarma and Ayurvedic therapies. My journey has also provided me the unique opportunity to personally study with acclaimed authorities in the field of Ayurveda such as Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. David Simon, Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar, Dr. John Douillard, Dr. Vasant Lad, David Frawley, Dr. Stuart Rothenberg, and Dr. Nancy Lonsdorf.
In 2011, I opened Jothi Vita Ayurvedic Spa & Wellbeing Center in South Florida with the mission of bringing the wisdom of this fascinating science to a broader community by offering consultations, therapies, Panchakarma, classes and workshops.
With this same vision, most recently I acquired Sai Ayurvedic Institute, as a way to amplify this knowledge through the formation of Counselors, Practitioners, and Doctors embracing the authentic Ayurveda curricula.
